Been a looong while since I last updated this blog ... I've got other more important things happening since the start of this year. I've started MindPillar I've started Logic2Go I'm graduating this summer I'm going to go back to those PwC work-hours. Difference: this time it's for my own company! It's a minor difference but still huge in terms of who gets to be the millionaire. Saturday, September 06, 2003
It's exciting, it's getting jittery, it is getting real real panicky! We're going sky-diving tomorrow and I have absolutely no clue what it's going to be like. On another note, went to Beena's mom house today. Mrs. Bells invited me for the Onam lunch. I've never been invited to one yet, and I think it's a good tradition! If you've never known what Onam can mean, then here ye go. Thursday, September 04, 2003
A new academic year, a new dream, a new dilema. Classes started Sept 2nd, and thats after we spend 30th, 31st and 1st moving to the new apartment. Waht happened to the summer? You mean all the glorious 3 months of it while I was soaking up the Bangalorean sun and too lazy to blog?!! Monday, March 17, 2003
Oops, update that bit about 10 hour workdays. Already on my 11th hour and will 'prolly remain past the 12 hour mark. When you have so much pomp, ceremony and expectations riding on a stupid holiday, it buckles under pressure. Or under the pressure of 4 inches of rainfall. Yup! :-( Didn't even venture out of the this state, forget going through seven of em' Rain washed the beach plans. But the really really silver lining this time was the wonderful 18 degrees of warmth right here in NJ. Nice, bright, sunny, breezy. Perfect for a walk in the park, a chcocolate thick-shake, a walk to the library and through downtown Maplewood and a lazy afternoon spent reading a book in the garden. And i did all of them!!! Back to the 10 hour workdays. but we might, just might go to Myrtle beach this coming weekend, if i can muster the courage to ask my boss for a holiday so close to April 15th (28 days and counting). WoW! My first 15+ hour work day (okay, 15.5 hours) at PwC. It's 12:20 now, waiting for the dumb cab t pick me up, takes them 25 minutes to get here at night, without traffic? When it takes 15 minutes in the morning, with traffic! I'll never understand some things, thank god for that! I'm building up hopes for the 3-day holiday, and putting in my hours too, so i can slip away without a huge backlog when i get back. Sunday, March 09, 2003
Spring-break, spring-break, spring break! sprrrrrrrrrrring break! Been making plans for a few days now. So far the best bet looks like a short drive (11 hours) to South Carolina (south of Myrtle beach) ;) We've planned to rent a car and get a hotel for the 2 nights we are there and just get away fromt he work, the snow, the cold and life, for 3 exciting, sunny and warm days. It's going to be Suramya, Pranav, Surabhi and me. Others who chickened out, in no particular order: Madhur: got work to do, and can't take the monday off. Jessica: no reason Jigna: cousin's coming over Paula: got work to do, and can't take the monday off. Friday, March 07, 2003
Started listening to music at work. And i can finally agree that it actually helps my work speed. Or might be it's just my tax related work, and not programming ;-) What i want TODAY: Bluetooth enabled mp3 player that comes with the bluetooth headphones. What i will settle for: Bluetooth enabled headphones that come with a PCMCIA adapter!! It's been busy. I never knew we could cram so much tax info in 2 weeks of frozen training. And it remains frozen for a while too. Everything they say about the hardworking Japanese is so very true. I wake up at 7, get onto the first bus at 7:50, then the train and finally the last shuttle drops me off at 9:00, and these dudes are already on their second cup o' joe. And they beat my 9:30pm work-stop time by a few extra hours too. The only way to beat them at it is by working sundays (I already work saturdays!!) But i'm sure if i show up here at sundays, there's only going to be pre-ordered sushi for lunch! hahahaha! Tuesday, February 18, 2003
Been a while, a very busy while. This was the weekend that gave us the Blizzard of '03. And was it good n' plenty. 23 inches of pure white powder in my backyard!!! Also, i'm at PricewaterhouseCoopers now (PwC for the Acrony-maniacs). Been busy, will get busier what with the tax season here already. Will update more on life, chips and the meaning of soft tacos - later Wednesday, November 20, 2002
The interview, if u can call it that, was a POS (piece_o_shit). And they don't even want to look at F-1 visa students. Well, the other 'citizens' looked like shit. Serves First investors right. Hope they learn that not everyone without an american passport is a t_error_ist Anyways, now that i've ranted about it, feeling much better. Tuesday, November 19, 2002
Knocking off so I can wake up on time for the First Investors interview tomorrow. It's an unpaid spot, so hope they don't trouble my gray-cells a lot during the first round of interviews. Wish me luck. Started work on using FUDforum software for ACM@NJIT. Exciting as of now, lets see what interesting ideas it leads to. |
